Club members discussed plans for Field Day 2003 and selected the site for this year's filed day activities. Club members decided to hold Field Day activities at Frank Jackson State Park near Opp, Alabama for this year.
Mr Gary Beeler from NWS Mobile conducted a SKYWARN Spotter trainng April 17. 23 People attended this class.
SARC members participated in Field day activities at Frank Jackson Park in Opp, AL. 12 Amateur operators participated in Field day. Covington County Commissioners Greg White and Glenn Powell visited with SARC members Saturday afternoon. 25 family members and guests helped make our field day activities a success.
At the July club meeting, members voted to accept three new members into the South Alabama Radio Club. New members are
SARC Members met at the new repeater site to assist James, KD4BWQ with the installation of the antenna and coax. The repeater seems to be hearing fairly well without the preamp installed on the receive antenna.
The SARC Christmas party was held at the QTH of Larry WA4LR. Despite the rainy weather during the gathering, everyone enjoyed the fried fish, french fries, baked beans, cole slaw and hot dogs. This was followed with a variety of deserts. Thanks Larry and Mary for the great hospitality.
The December Club meeting was the Annual Business meeting where new officers were elected for 2004. There being no nominations for opposition, the following members were elected to serve as officers for 2004.
