The board of directors met and recommended that the dues for 2009 be the same as last year which is $20 for single member and $30 for family membership.

9 members attended the January meeting.  Bob Lawrence KI4RWL agreed to swap the antennas on Bill Haynes NK4D’s Tower in exchange for the Andrews hardline he has donated to the SARC for the repair of the repeater.


9 members and 1 guest attended the February meeting.  The group decided that the SARC Field Day will be at Frank Jackson State Park in Opp, AL. again this year.


6 members attended the March meeting.  


There were 4 members and 2 visitor present at the April club meeting.  Pat and Bart signed the agreement to transfer the trusteeship of the WC4M repeater. This has been sent to the Alabama Repeater Council.


There were 6 members and 3 visitor present at the May club meeting.  Members discussed Field Day and made plans for items to be brought and menu for Saturday.


There were 12 members and 1 visitor present at the June club meeting.  Malcolm Reed and Jr. provided the seafood (Shrimp and Mullet) for Friday evening evening meal and everyone else brought the fixings.   Everyone had a good time at Frank Jackson State Park, Opp, Alabama for Field Day. The club operated a 2-A station.

Members enjoyed the seafood meal Friday night and fellowship before the main activities for Saturday.  Saturday everyone had fun making contacts, eating the food at the cookout and fellowship.


5 members and 1 guest attended the July meeting.  Members discussed Field day and decided that it was necessary to purchase a networking logging program for use next year during field day.  The club purchased the networking version of N3FJP Field Day software.  Susan Carpenter is the new Covington County EMA Director and will begin her office July 27th at the Covington County Administrative building.  Members met at McDonald's before leaving for the Milton Hamfest July 18th


4 members and 2 guests attended the August meeting.  Susan Carpenter, Covington County Alabama EMA Director, spoke to members at the August meeting. Susan asked that she speak


8 members attended the September meeting.  Bob Sullivan W5RE, Debra Brown KF4BOR, and John Brown KE4HIE agreed to serve on the Nomination Committee for next year's officers.   The repeater work done last month determined that the problem with the repeater was on the tower.  Work will be done when someone can be located to climb the tower.


SARC Club members had a picnic on October 3rd at Open Pond Camping Area.  Everyone had a good time.   Severe weather Spotter Class was held on October 15th instead of the regular club meeting.


7 members attended the November meeting.  The following people were nominated for the respective office:

SARC did not have a Christmas Party.  It was suggested that members attend the multi-club party Dec 18th or the OARC party December 12th.

¹KI4WEA is the old call sign.  Wayne took advantage of the vanity call sign from the FCC and now has the vanity call sign W4WEA.
